Our travel plans for getting back home from the last leg of the
2013 Haywire Riot tour were impecabbly timed.
Not by our own doing, of course.
We were lucky enough to leave before a big storm hit the UK
(where the last run of dates were) and also lucky enough to
get home before an Arctic freeze and insane winter storms
covered the entire Contenitnal US, with the exception of Florida.
So we were safe at home before it all hit.
This last leg of the tour was probably our toughest yet. 27 shows
in 30 odd days. Lots of 8-10 hour drives. We went to many places
we hadn't been before and made a lot of new friends in Germany,
Czech Republic, Netherlands, and France. We also hit some
familiar haunts and new places in Belgium and the UK.
We are very grateful to all the fans that turned out this year in
EVERY country. We know you work hard for your money
and could go and see whatever band you want. Our un-ending
thanks to those that choose to come see Skinny Molly!
We celebrated Mike's birthday last Saturday December 7
at Maggiano's in Nashville. A small circle of family and close
friends turned up, and everybody was well stuffed on fine Italian
food by the end of the evening!
To start 2014 off, we will be in the studio recording the rest of
our next CD. We will also be mixing a DVD that we did with
Monsters Of Southern Rock at The Shed, in Maryville, TN last
May.
We have started booking dates for next year! We will be
in the USA with some close to home dates until May, which is
when we go over to Scandinavia to play some clubs and
Festivals. We will return to the States in June and will be doing
a West coast run in California. There will be more USA dates
until late July, when we will return to France for a week or so of
Festivals and some of our favorite places. Hopefully our third CD
(as of yet untitled) will be finished by then. Late in 2014, the good
Lord willing and the creek don't rise, we will be returning to Europe
for a big tour in support of the CD. Of course some of these things
can, do, and will change. But for now that's an overview of the plan!
All of us here at Skinny Molly hope you and yours have a safe and
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
